Terms of Service
The terms under which you use Glean.

1. Acceptance
By downloading, installing, or using Glean you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use Glean. These Terms form a binding agreement between you and Glean ("we", "us", "our").
2. Description of service
Glean is a Windows desktop application that performs optical character recognition (OCR) on screen regions and optionally translates the extracted text. A web account and optional Pro subscription unlock additional features including unlimited translations, translation history, and vocabulary tools.
3. Beta release
Glean is currently offered as a Beta release. This means the software is still under active development and you should expect the following:
- Features may be added, changed, or removed without advance notice.
- Bugs, crashes, and unexpected behaviour may occur. We appreciate bug reports but cannot guarantee resolution timelines.
- Service uptime and availability are not guaranteed during the Beta period.
- Data formats or storage may change between Beta releases, which could require re-configuration.
- By using the Beta release you accept these conditions and acknowledge that Glean is not yet a finished product.
4. User accounts
- You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials.
- One Glean account may be used on multiple personal devices belonging to the same individual. Pro licences are per-user and non-transferable.
- You must provide accurate information when registering and keep it up to date.
5. Subscriptions and billing
- Glean Pro is available on monthly and annual billing cycles. Current prices are shown at /purchase.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled.
- Payment is processed by Stripe. By subscribing you also agree to Stripe's Terms of Service.
- We reserve the right to change subscription prices. Price changes will be communicated at least 30 days in advance and will apply at your next renewal.
5. Pricing
- Glean is currently free to use in full. There are no paid plans, subscriptions, or usage limits.
- The service is supported by advertising and sponsorships. We do not collect or process payment information from you.
- If paid plans are introduced in future, these terms will be updated and you will be notified before any charge could apply to you.
6. Cancellation
- You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account page. You retain Pro access until the end of the current billing period.
6. Account deletion
- You may delete your account at any time from your account page. Deletion permanently removes your account data, including your translation history.
7. Permitted use
Glean is licensed for personal and commercial use on Windows devices. The Free tier is intended for individual, non-automated use. You may not:
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the application.
- Redistribute or resell Glean or any part of it.
- Circumvent usage limits (e.g. creating multiple accounts to bypass the daily translation cap).
- Use Glean in a way that violates any applicable law or third-party rights.
- Automate or script interactions with Glean in a way that generates excessive API load.
8. Intellectual property
Glean, its source code, branding, and all associated intellectual property are owned by Glean. Nothing in these Terms transfers any IP rights to you. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the software in accordance with these Terms.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
Glean is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that Glean will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that translation results will be accurate. OCR and translation quality depend on third-party engines (Windows.Media.OCR and Google Translate) outside our control.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of Glean shall not exceed the total fees you paid to us in the 12 months immediately preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the product evolves. Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice on the website at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of Glean after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Poland and, where applicable, the laws of the European Union. Any dispute arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Poland, unless mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence provide otherwise.
